Jai Mangla Sponge Iron Pvt. Ltd.
India is the world's largest producer of sponge iron, most of which is produced primarily through the coal based method of production.
Direct reduced iron (DRI), also called sponge iron,[1] is produced from the direct reduction of iron ore (in the form of lumps, pellets, or fines) to iron by a reducing gas or elemental carbon produced from natural gas or coal. Many ores are suitable for direct reduction. Direct-reduced iron has about the same iron content as pig iron, typically 90–94% total iron (depending on the quality of the raw ore) so it is an excellent feedstock for the electric furnaces used by mini mill.
Jai Mangla Sponge Iron Private Limited produces sponge iron that is consistent in quality. The Company has an annual manufacturing capacity of 200 tonnes of sponge iron from its 2 kilns (100 TPD). The production process followed at JMSPL makes it unique and superior than its competitors.
