Founded in 1964, by Late Mr. Joginder Lal Vig, the Group has a historical  association with Tata Steel since 1979. During the initial days of our association, company called Shree Laxmi Timber Traders & Saw Mill used to supply packing wood to Sheet Mill and railway track wooden sleeper which was supplied to 3 different depts., namely:Transportation Dept.Central Engg& Development Division & Modernization Dept.

In the year 1989, Mr. Jawahar Lal Vig, current Managing Director of SLTT, Joined the firm. In 2001, we diversified ourself from wood supplier to a packaging partner of Tata Steel. Time passed and SLTT group grew into various business verticals. Today the group is in Hospitality, Sponge Iron Manufacturing, Aluminum Notch Bars and Cubes Manufacturing & Stone mining (building material).

Today, we have progressed beyond just the Packaging. Currently we are  nurturing the domains of  Hospitality (hotels and restaurants), Metal Manufacturing  (Sponge Iron & Aluminum ) and Building Material (Stone Chips).

In hospitality, our first major venture is ‘Shaurya Inn  which is a luxury Hotel cum multi cuisine  Restaurant’. This is one of the most renowned name among the travelers and choice of all age & group for the comforts and food we serve. We  are setting up the second unit at Bistupur (in the heart of city).Industrial Catering Services caters to the need of all cadre of employees of Tata Steel Limited. This division presently manages 10 nos of Canteen inside Tata Steel, 2 Munch Boxes and Canteen at CRM Bara Plant.

We also championed the manufacturing of Sponge Iron in state of art plant located at Chandil (about 40 KM from Jamshedpur) on Tata Ranchi Highway. To meet the growing need of Aluminum in the country and adjoining industries, we have set up an Aluminum Scrap melting unit at Adityapur, Jamshedpur.

With a humble desire to contribute to the advancement of  national housing plan ,we ventured into mining of stone chips to meet the requirements of urban Housing growth.
